International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

The IGCSE course is a two year course undertaken by students in their fourth year of schooling at LBIS. It encourages learner-centred and enquiry-based approaches to learning and provides students with an excellent preparation for the next stage in their education, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. It incorporates the best in international education for learners at this level. It develops in line with changing needs, and is regularly updated and extended.

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is a balanced international curriculum suitable for students of all nationalities and all levels of ability. IGCSE is taken in over 100 countries worldwide and is recognised by universities and employers around the world as evidence of academic ability. IGCSE provides a series of syllabi and assessment programmes covering the two years of education between the ages of 14 and 16. Most IGCSE courses consist of a two-year programme that leads to external public examinations at the IGCSE level. See the MYP Subject Overviews for an outline of the curriculum covered in the IGCSE.
