Le Bocage International School (LBIS) officially opened in January 1990. In the years since its inception, the school has grown rapidly and has become an IB world school, providing a well-balanced education for over 800 students. Le Bocage offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years (MYP), Diploma (DP), and Career-Related Programme (CP). The Pearson BTEC curriculum is integrated into the Career-Related Programme, providing an additional external qualification. Students in Forms 4 and 5 can also complete the Cambridge IGCSE. LBIS is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), the Middle States Association (MSA), and the Mauritian Ministry of Education, with an enrollment of over 800 students. LBIS is also a member of the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA).

Operated by the non-profit PROGOS organisation, LBIS boasts a diverse student body representing 30 nationalities, with 85% being Mauritian, many of whom have lived abroad. The student-teacher ratio is 9:1, with an average class size of 20. Mauritius, known for its tourism, is also emerging as an education hub, attracting a diverse student population that mirrors the island’s cultural and religious diversity.

LBIS is a member of the Global Schools Programme, a UN-backed initiative involving over 1,500 schools to promote an understanding of Sustainable Development and foster the values and skills necessary for students to thrive in a complex and challenging world.
