DP Coordinator

If you’re reading this, you’re about to enter an exciting, challenging, and life-changing journey of the IB Diploma Programme (DP) at LBIS. Whether you’re a student preparing for this next chapter or a parent supporting this important transition, I welcome you to an experience that will shape not just academic success, but also the way students think, learn, and engage with the world.

As a coordinator, I have witnessed how the DP pushes students to grow beyond their comfort zones – academically, personally, and globally. But this journey is unique to each individual. The experience can be as enriching as the passion, effort, and curiosity students bring to it. Parents play a key role in this process, offering encouragement, and the support needed to help their child navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Choosing your DP subjects? That’s where the magic begins! It’s a chance for students to craft a programme that excites them, aligns with their aspirations, and fuels their intellectual curiosity. As you explore options, consider:

  • What truly excites you? Let your passions guide your choices.
  • Where do you dream of going? Align your subjects with your university and career goals.
  • How will you thrive? Balance academics with your personal interests and wellbeing.

Yes, the DP is rigorous, but it’s also a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and growth. It prepares students not only for university but for life beyond, equipping them with the skills to think critically, communicate effectively, and adapt to an ever-changing world.

At LBIS, we are committed to supporting both students and parents through this experience. Our focus is on providing personalized guidance, encouraging students to push their boundaries while keeping their options open, and promoting a balanced approach to learning.

Let’s connect and explore the endless possibilities that await you in the IB Diploma Programme!

MYP Coordinator

From my perspective as a Coordinator,  I am pleased to share the profound value of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP. The MYP is not just an educational framework; it is a transformative journey that shapes students into compassionate, active learners who are prepared for the complexities of an evolving and modern world.

The MYP emphasizes holistic education, integrating academic rigor with personal and social growth. Students atLe Bocage  engage with eight subject groups, including Humanities, Sciences, and Arts, fostering a well-rounded understanding of various disciplines. This broad curriculum encourages critical thinking and inquiry-based learning, and project-based experiences enabling students to connect their studies to real-world issues and challenges.

One of the cornerstones of the MYP is its commitment to intercultural awareness. By exploring diverse perspectives and cultures, students develop empathy and respect for others. International Mindedness is essential in today’s globalized world, where understanding different viewpoints is crucial for effective communication and collaboration.

The MYP also focuses on developing essential life skills through its Approaches to Learning (ATL). These skills include communication, research, self-management, and social skills. By nurturing these competencies, we prepare our students not just for academic success but for lifelong learning and responsible citizenship. They learn to approach challenges with resilience and creativity, becoming adaptable problem solvers.

Hence, the IB Middle Years Programme equips students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to thrive in an ever-changing global landscape. As a coordinator, I am privileged to witness firsthand how this program empowers young individuals to become reflective thinkers and compassionate leaders. Together at Le Bocage, we are not only shaping their academic futures but also nurturing their potential to make meaningful contributions to society.
